Artist Statement

I'm an artist based in Bridport, Dorset UK.

My short-form abstract experimental films aim to explore the black box of cinema as a contemplative space that rivals the white cube of the gallery. Traditionally viewed as a site for passive consumption, the cinema can also serve as a sanctuary for introspection and personal reflection.

The interplay of light, sound, and movement in my films is intended to create a meditative atmosphere, encouraging viewers to delve into their own interpretations and emotions.

By blurring the lines between narrative and abstraction, I seek to transform the black box into a dynamic environment where contemplation and creativity coexist, challenging the conventional boundaries of cinematic experience.
